Karlheinz & Franz Wehrheim
The fourth generation of Wehrheims are producing classically dry wines on 20 hectares of vineyards in southern Palatine. Thanks to the versatile terroire in Birkweiler, Franz and Karlheinz Wehrheim have the best opportunity to create character-rich wines. The largest single-site vineyards of the winery are called "Sonnenschein" (shell limestone), "Kastanienbusch" (weathered red sandstone, shell limestone and red slate) and Mandelberg (shell limestone).
Father Karlheinz and cellarman Franz concentrate on classic grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, and they have been biodynamic since 2006. The winery has been a member of the VDP since 1991.
“Because it is the logical consequence.“
Franz and Karlheinz Wehrheim are respekt members because the idea of sustainability is decisive for family wineries. The vineyard, the winemaker, the family and the environment form a union.
