Member of the Porto Protocol, network for climate protection, knowledge transfer and cooperation in viticulture

The Porto Protocol Foundation was founded in 2018 by Taylor’s Port with the aim of accelerating climate protection in the wine world.

We have been part of the network as an association since 2019 to make our practical solutions for a sustainable wine world available worldwide and at the same time to find new measures, approaches and concepts for ourselves.

The Porto Protocol is a strong network that thrives on intensive dialogue within the benefiting not only the wine world, but the entire agricultural sector, including its supply chains and customers.

Managing Director Marta Mendonça and Project Manager Cristina Crava now coordinate a network with over 250 members worldwide. In addition to numerous wineries, these include retailers, suppliers, research institutes such as Hochschule Geisenheim University, Bordeaux Science Agro and Plumpton College in the UK, as well as regional representatives such as agency owner Sylvia Petz for the German-speaking countries.

With initiatives such as the Living Vineyards Tour and the Unpacking Wine Guide published in 2024, the Porto Protocol is empowering the industry to take a leading role in sustainability.

Interested sponsor partners are also very welcome.
